The Comedy of Errors by William Shakespeare

My attitude toward Shakespeare goes in cycles. When I was little I was interested but intimidated; as a teen I was dismissive; as a very new adult/college student I found him brilliant. I have reached the stage now where, while I still think he is brilliant, I don't really enjoy him as I did. At least not the comedies. I wonder if that's because they end in (improbable and unsatisfying) weddings, when the real-life comedy I'm living will end in the new Jerusalem where there is neither marrying nor giving in marriage. But then again, it will be the marriage feast of the Lamb... so maybe the weddings aren't entirely untrue to reality... maybe I'm just a twenty-one-year-old cynic.

Anyway, this is fun, and I like that it was inspired by Plautus. It was nice to reread it almost exactly a year after my first time. I like Shakespearean tragedy better.
