Cinder Ella by S.T. Lynn

1.0

This book had so much potential but it fell flat. Ella was a great main character and I’m a huge fan of Cinderella re-tellings but this one wasn’t as fleshed out as I’d hoped.

The story felt rushed at some points while it at others felt slow — some parts felt a bit unnecessary while others was cut short. The language in the book was mixed when it came to old-fashioned writing and modern, it might not be a problem to everyone but to me it was not done smoothly enough. They ate sushi and the main character was called cute, both things didn’t quite fit with the time-period.

I really enjoyed that Cinderella was black & transgender, the WLW storyline was unexpected but well made!

This novella was all in all an okay read but it should’ve had a few more pages to allow the characters to grow more. Read this if you want a quick and heartfelt story!
