The Healing Power of Sugar by C.L. Stone
3.0
I want to cry.
This series is one of the most unique I've ever come across with it's gripping story full of twists and mystery as well as its complexity of characters.
9 books in, and I'm starting to waver, as the fear goes with a series as drawn out as this.
The same questions are being asked over and over. The plot isn't being advanced enough to make it interesting.
Essentially, no progress has been actually made in this book. Just more questions and new people, which is all fine but I feel in bringing in more people, something could have came out of to further the storyline, to add another piece.
Instead, I felt it got lost and I am so disappointed.
I appreciate the time taken to develop the group and the whole adaptation to the situation that they hope to put into place. But I felt that there were some scenes that got dragged out and didn't actually contribute a whole lot.
I HATE TO even put this down here but Sang....is developing almost too slowly for me. I like how realistic it all seems considering what she has been through....but her constant worry and insecurity is grating on me more than I care to admit.
It saddens me to think that, having loved these books from the beginning. I feel loyalty to the story because I genuinely adore the plot and the concepts, not to mention all of the guys! I would miss them so much if I felt I was losing complete interest in the way the story is heading. Which could be ultimately no where for a while. But I am hanging in here, hoping that more will happen, and I'll let the next book decide if I can stand to continue it.
