Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer

hopeful informative inspiring reflective slow-paced

5.0

This book was an amazing read. It changed my perception of humans’ role on earth and how important our care of mother earth is. Absolutely beautiful prose from Robin Wall Kimmerer. She has such a way with words that transports me to the moments she spend out in the field, in the ceremonies and festivals, in the pond, and so much more.

It took me 5 months to read this book not because I dislike it but because it feels like long tales regaled by my grandmother told to me right before I fall asleep or during rainy nights when nothing is happening. It is a constant reminder to appreciate and be grateful for everything we have in this world. To see how important everything in our ecosystem works. I’ve been jaded and suffered from eco-anxiety due to climate change and this one is such a breath of fresh air.
