Burn the House Down, Vol. 6 by Moyashi Fujisawa

5.0

My god what a satisfying end to this volume! It's a huge cliffhanger, but it's such a satisfying one. All of the pieces of the larger puzzle regarding Makiko come together in this volume. It's also interesting thing how the story shows that documenting your entire life online can come back to bite you in the ass, even fifteen years later! Social media is basically leaving a huge paper trail about your entire life if you let it.
Spoiler I also like that everyone who has been hurt by Makiko is coming together to take her down. Also, interesting to see that it truly was Makiko who set the fire, and there wasn't a plot twist about that.
This volume really shows how deep of a pit Makiko dug herself into by letting her greed get the better of her.
Spoiler Her frustration towards Satsuki is understandable when Satsuki says that using money to buy her daughter a place in a fancy school makes it worthless. Money is a powerful tool and makes life so much easier. But Makiko fell into the pitfall of thinking money can solve everything when it very much cannot. Sure, it can help with some things, but not what she was looking to fix.
