Short Letter, Long Farewell by Peter Handke

4.0

A novel about changes.
Gradual changes you don't notice (lovers slowly falling out of love, trees growing)
Discreet changes, which you do notice happening (technological advancements and the development of a narrative)
And changes you expect to happen, but then happen without you noticing them. (getting used to living in a new country, getting over a relationship)

Nassim Taleb should give it a read. I think he'd like it.
