⠀i. have absolutely no words. i started this book a month ago and only got a few pages in before i had to leave the state for three weeks. i had every intention of starting another book after this—not mockingjay. with the first book, i could do that. and i did. however, the last six or so pages managed to seep into my soul and i sat staring at the final sentence for a solid five minutes.

⠀there was something lacking from the first book. i don’t know what, but it deterred me from giving it five starts. i didn’t even think twice about giving this book five stars. everything about this i loved. except gale. i don’t like gale. why does katniss even consider gale when peeta is right there?!
