This is my favorite section of the series. The way Ellie and Akira's relationship develops, how Ellie is able to both bring out Akira's vulnerabilities and they both want to protect each other is adorable, but also realistic that Akira takes it too far and hurts Ellie in the process. These characters feel so real for their flaws and it's one of the biggest draws of the series in my opinion.
