Alexandra Christo is clearly not for me because this is the second of her books I've not cared for. This is a total SOC copycat; I didn't want to say it at the time but come ON lmfao. The vaguely Dutch setting, the dangerous magic, the amoral characters on a heist, the fact that the characters are all just mashes of the main SOC characters. Wesley is Kaz if Kaz didn't serve and have depth. There's inspiration and similar tropes, and then there's massively ripping off Leigh Bardugo. Turns out it's harder to pull off Six of Crows than you'd think.
