Sensory: Life on the Spectrum. An Autistic Comics Anthology by Bex Ollerton, Schnumn
3.0
Glows: You love to see a Graphic novel just to highlight comics made by autistic artists for autism acceptance month!
The comics seemed to be organized generally by topic? (At least it felt like ones that talked about similar things were back to back) It was nice to see different perspectives back to back like that!
A lot of these comics are just BEAUTIFUL and worth looking at just to admire
I felt really seen and got lots of good advice for managing my life and advocating for myself 💖
I love having all of the QR codes at the end for different resources, it was really helpful! especially because I checked this out from a local library? so I can follow all of these artists on my phone without needing the book in front of me as long as I have the webpage. :)
Grows: There's no headers/titles for some of the comics, so I had to flip between the table of contents and the pages themselves to find names, AND some of the names don't include social media links!
I noticed some comics looked like they needed to be upscaled/lost some detail when being collected into this anthology. I was kind of disappointed to see some text/art blurred/pixelated along smaller details.
Both?: There is a HUGE variety in themes and art here! Some did not click with me in terms of art style, and some didn't click with me in terms of content and what they were saying. I think that anyone could find at least a couple comics in here they like, and some others they might skim or skip.
Overall, it was really worth the read, and I'd love to see these artists again in the future!
