Rebel Folklore: 50 Empowering Spirits, Witches and Misfits, from Baba Yaga to Anansi by Icy Sedgwick

dark emotional hopeful informative reflective medium-paced

4.5

I really loved Sedgwick's approach to talking about folk tales from around the world. I really appreciate that includes how to respectfully discuss and talk about them without appropriating although it would have been great for this to be in more detail.

I also love the theories of why each tale might have been told, how it might have been adapted as times and contexts change and what we can learn from it now.

Overall I really lived this book but I would have LOVED some more detail.
