If you've read my reviews before, you know how much of a hater I am of V. Let me tell you, when I was reading this book about Assail and Sola, I wasn't expecting so much V. Vishous is one of the worst characters in the BDB universe and any time he is brought up it gets my blood boiling.
In this book, V decides to almost cheat on Jane. Stupid. Of course, he would, he is never satisfied with anything he has. Not only does he basically cheat on her (he does cheat, the fact he even let someone come over to his home is enough for me to say it's cheating) he yells at her and says it's her fault. It's not her fault and even though I'm not a Jane fan, I will stick by her. He is so narcissistic and terrible to everyone around him. He tries to be all emo about every emotion he has but come onnnnnnn man, nobody gives a fuck. It's much harder to be vulnerable than locked in your fortress of solitude. Just be real with someone FOR ONCE MAN. Anyway, enough about his sorry ass, let's get to Assail and Sola.
I love Assail, but in this book, he irked the fuck out of me. I love his cousins but they lied to Sola about him having cancer just so she would come down. It was terrible, but then he proceeds to lie to her multiple times throughout the book. I don't give a fuck if a man was head over heels for me, if he lied multiple times about serious situations we would not ever speak again. The way he treats her just shows how he really feels, truly. Ugh. I Love Sola though, I saw a review on here saying how they didn't like her wish-washyness but COME ON. If your man lied to you about having cancer, would you not be back and forth about your feelings for him? Overall, the story was shitty because we didn't get enough of the main characters and only got a story about shitty side characters. I enjoyed whatever Throe was doing, looking towards more of that! Evale and Eric have my heart and so does Sola's Vovo. Anyway, so done with this series but I'm gonna stick it out. PS. Vitoria's POV was stupid and unneeded. And I'm NOT excited for Muhrder (what a stupid name)
