This book is so spicy y’all. I did a simultaneous audio/ebook read and let me just say Monique Ryerson and Connor Crais knocked the narration out of the park. 
 
I loved Marissa and Chris together, even though there was a thirteen year age gap between the two, it was glaringly obvious, which was nice. I actually really liked Chris too, yes I wish he wouldn’t have been cheating, but it really didn’t bother me much, especially after being introduced to his wife (that feels terrible to say, but whatever). 
 
Honestly the first 60% or so of this book was absolutely five stars for me, but I am not a fan of time jumps and that fact that this book had two made me have to lower my rating. I understand why the author had the time jumps, but I felt as if we missed so much not getting any update from either character during that time. And maybe I’m a glutton for punishment, but I wanted allll the details to the messy proceedings.
