I liked this better than book 1. War and Miriam were a more compelling couple for me than Pestilence and Sarah, plus the war camp and its cast of characters gave more outside interaction for them than the home stays gave our previous couple. Still a few cringe-worthy scenes between a diety who expects compliance and the woman thinking of how to thwart him, but some insanely intense sex scenes too. A good progression for the series. I will read more.
