Read on Audio
Yeah, this was definitely a huge no thanks for me. I think the fact that I read the book on Audio played a tiny part in this. Had I been reading it on my own, I probably wouldn't have imagined things as over the top or obnoxious. By the end, I was almost hate reading and about quit, but I only had a tiny bit left and figured I could push on.
Wish, the main female protagonist was enjoyable enough, and I liked the cunning of her queen mother as well. Xar, however, was incredibly annoying, and I couldn't stand him as a character. I didn't feel attached to anyone or anything what so ever, and was not even a tad concerned when they were in "danger."
I was hoping to enjoy this one and have a fun, easy series to read, but unfortunately the Wizards of Once just wasn't it.
