MEH! I liked the trope (friends to lovers/live-in lover) but this book was mind-numbingly repetitive. It could've used another edit to remove all the repeated that were mentioned several times. As a reader, it is helpful to have reminders tucked in here and there but it's a balance between being helpful to the reader and giving the reader the benefit of the doubt that their memory can retain and recall the information given. In this book, the reader is reminded CONSTANTLY that Bancroft is hot, that Ruby needs a job, and that she doesn't want to depend on her dad.

Apart from its repetitiveness, the book was fun. Bancroft is one of the good guys and I liked how protective he was of Ruby from the get-go. Though, I didn't get a sense of his character, other than he likes his pets, wearing socks, and used to play Rugby. I admired Ruby for wanting to carve her own path in life but her character was a stock character as well.

I had this audiobook on while I was removing popcorn ceiling in my new house. Given that the novel had a lot of extraneous information, it was a good companion to this house work. I really liked the narrators in this one. I don't think I've ever listened to an audiobook narrated by either Jacob Morgan or Rose Dioro but I will definitely be searching for them again. I liked both of their styles - not over done but also not monotone.
