You Like It Darker by Stephen King

4.0

"Two Talented Bastids"
"... nothing can give you what isn't already there."

4 stars
This is one of those King novellas that you end up wishing was one of his 500+ page novels. There's a lot going on here, and, wanting to avoid spoilers, not much I can say about it. There's a little touch of a 'Tommyknockers' vibe, subtle, but I caught it.

"The Fifth Step"
3 stars
All Harold Jamieson wanted to do that day was sit on his favorite park bench and enjoy reading his newspaper. Those plans changed when a stranger sat down and asked Harold for a favor. A fast paced short story.

"Willie the Weirdo"
"I want to watch you go. I want to be the last thing you see."

3.5 stars
Another quick short story with a nice dash of creepy thrown in for good measure.

"Danny Coughlin's Bad Dream"
4 stars
This is a previously unpublished novella and it has everything you would expect from some good King storytelling.

A super quick short story that fell flat for me.
