The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

Did not finish book.

1.0

DNF at 160, or about halfway through.

I don't hate it, but it's tedious. The writing is such that you can tell they are obsessed with their own sophistication. "Look how clever I am, taking 160 pages to explain nothing at all, but in such a BRITISH way, ho!" In half of the book, so far, we have seen six characters be forced together by circumstance, and spend most of their time talking about how much they despise each other. Except for one of them who is also obsessed with fucking the butler, basically.

There was also one fight that was so boringly told that it's hard to believe the characters felt they were actually in any danger.

I skipped to the end and skimmed the last 20 pages or so, and as far as I can tell, something eventually does sort of happen, but it involves the most awful of the six characters, so I can't be assed to care.
