This book had too much happening in the worst way. The mafia side plot was 100000% unnecessary as was the part with Bristol’s mother. The main characters weren’t horrible but I was not into them as much as I would have liked. The first few chapters were engaging enough but I was over it pretty quick and just finished it to finish it. The plot became more chaotic and ridiculous with each chapter. I love fake dating but that was not really whatever the heck this was in the book lol.

The confrontation Ashely has at the coffee shop made negative sense. Also there didn’t seem to be any animosity with the mother at first but then their interaction was odd and honestly I was on Ashley’s side for the fact that the MMC was rude and mean for no explained reason. I thought she didn’t wanna be involved because of the mafia from the way he explained it at the start, but instead of saying “would you like to meet your daughter to have a semi-relationship” they just had a weird pissing contest that did nothing for the plot. Also the whole sexual harassment was SO RANDOM and felt out of place beyond belief as well as his brother being the blackmailer. That whole section made negative sense and this novel would have done better just sticking to one bad guy in that moment.
