The story is so sweet and the art is just so beautiful. I can't say how much I love how she drew the girls hair, just the perfect combination of realism and artistic representation that makes the book stunning. 

I am not black, I have never had a wash day in my family, but I can feel the love of generations of tradition so many women have had over the years in this simple story.
