3.5 ⭐️ rounded right on up. This book has a lot going on and a lot going for it, but didn’t really nail all the elements. But here’s what I will say, this authors voice is so fun. Very homegrown and backwoods in a very comforting way. She calls her mom Mama and stepdad Big Daddy for goodness sakes, it’s amazing. I think a good litmus test on whether you’ll like this book is if you freaked out over Tom Brady kissing his son on the lips, maybe don’t pick this one up.
