Whalefall by Daniel Kraus
5.0
I was excited to read another book that takes place just outside of Monterey, CA. This was an anticipated read of the year and it did not disappointed. I will say, while the writing was good, the facts all incredibly accurate and the story itself enthralling.... how entirely stressful it all was. I had anxiety the entire time. But, I suppose that is the point.
If you're looking for a quick thrilling read of one man trying to survive, or wondering if he will survive, being consumed by a whale then Whalefall will not disappoint. The mental trauma and demons this man fought with was well depicted and made the story believable.
