This is probably one of the most fucked up and disturbing books I have ever read, however, it was also very fascinating and I couldn’t put it down. I am writing this review a few months after finishing this book and I still think about this book all the time. I think I liked it because of its insanity, it gives a very interesting perspective of uncensored insanity with zero reflection from the main character. Normally, the plot occurs in order to fuel the characters development, Grenouille did not develop or reflect upon his actions. He only acted upon instinct, and to view the world through someone’s perspective who is totally wrapped up in one objective and has a total lack of care for the world is incredibly interesting.
