Kat Martin writes some intriguing romantic suspense stories - and when I found The Last Goodnight on Netgalley from an auto approved publisher (You be the best, Kensington Books!), I just couldn’t resist picking it up to read it immediately.

The Last Goodnight, the first in the series is Kade Logan’s watch for the killer of his estranged wife. His wife went missing 8 years ago; however it’s only been two years since her body was found and only a month before when her car was found.

He wants to know; no, Kade Logan needs to know who the killer is. So he hires Eleanor “Ellie” Bowman, a private investigator, through his friend’s security firm to ferret out the truth.

With so many mysteries to unravel, and other attacks happening at his ranch, both Ellie and Kade have their work cut out for them. What they weren’t expecting was their instant attraction to each other.

Like always, Kat Martin writes an involving mystery, I actually stayed up late into the night to complete the book - and even with their own insecurities sabotaging their relationship; The Last Goodnight was definitely a satisfying read.

Looking forward to seeing where this series goes!
