My Viking Vampire by Krystal Shannan
5.0
Erick & Bailey: An Instalove plot that actually works for me! - 5 Stars
The year is 2096 and Bailey is on the run from an abusive ex. As if things couldn't get worse, she attracts the attention of a djinn who is hellbent on capturing her. As fate would have it, she runs into a gorgeous Viking vampire named Erick. On his way home to a mysterious town called Sanctuary, Texas, he invites Bailey to come along insisting that she will be safe there. There is an instant attraction and the two develop feelings. What Bailey doesn't know is that she was always destined to come to Sanctuary, Texas since she was born. She soon discovers her true purpose for being in the town and the fate she cannot avoid.
I was ready for this book to be another one of those cliched vampire novels. I mean, the title is rather cheesy. But this book was absolutely amazing! I loved Bailey and loved the protective vibe given off by Erick. I thought Bailey being an abuse victim and the "theme" of the town was just pure genius. I loved how patient Erick was concerning her fears on alternative lifestyles and I'm so glad the book wasn't filled with a bunch of unnecessary sexual angst.
I'm very fascinated about the colorful characters of Sanctuary and loved the incorporation of all things supernatural! I definitely look forward to reading more of this series.
Happy Reading!
