House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J. Maas
4.0
I read the last line in this book and felt like I was losing my mind. I sent massive amounts of texts in all caps to my friend who finished it the day before me and raged at her.
I know that SJM hinted at Feyre’s existence at the end of Throne of Glass, but it never went further than that. I think her series was getting popular enough that she wanted to throw something in there to seem like she had a grander plan.
The last line of this book revealing Bryce transporting to Rhysand’s house… good FRICKING LORD. My first thought was that this is some insane money grab, some weird attention seeking shit that SJM will NEVER pull off. I don’t think she’s dropped NEARLY enough obscure hints/references to the possibility that these two (or three) worlds are interlinked. I think this next book will either make or break all of her works for me. I am TERRIFIED she’s not going to stick the landing, and after everything her ACOTAR series has become for so many millions (I’m guessing) of fans, integrating it into the CC books is just… such a risk. I am nervous.
However. Loved that Bryce and Hunt finally boned in this one. I don’t understand the obsession over Ruhn? Like I like his character and his spicy scenes are cool but people are salivating over him like we did with Rhys and I JUST DON’T THINK HE’S EVEN CLOSE.
I mean… I guess technically he is… somehow…. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE, SJM. KNOCK THIS NEXT BOOK OUT OF THE PARK.
