Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo
5.0
I was like physically shaking the entire time while reading this I’m actually going crazy. This was so good. So good. It took me a while to finish it because I took a pause when the Netflix show came out and then it took me a while to get back to reading but AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Random things that made me lose my marbles:
* Kaz and Inej! THAT PART WITH THE BANDAGES. I WAS LITERALLY HOLDING MY BREATH THE ENTIRE CHAPTER. HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
* Inej's reaction to Kaz finding her parents had me weeping for days I am Not Fine.
* Jesper and Wylan oh my god!!!!!!
* Nina's new powers!!! They were so cool but so unsettling omg
* Nina and Matthias!!!! THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO SAD
*NIKOLAI STURMHOND MY BELOVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* Kuwei faking being bad at kerch is the funniest shit I've ever read
I'm a little sad that I finished it but holy shit. Not gonna lie I didn't always understand the details of the plans and schemes in this but it was never too confusing and I am amazed by Bardugo's imagination. I love these characters so much, they're all so well-written and have both good and bad sides which I enjoy very much. I loved how both this and Six of Crows switched perspective between the different characters which also really gave them the opportunity to show themselves in their full amazing and complicated glory.
