The first book has ACOMAF vibes, and this book reminded me of Silver Flames. And much like how I didn’t care for Nesta in that book, Rua didn’t win me over in this one. Grumpy MC who thinks sister has it easy (even though she doesn’t) but doesn’t care to get to know her… blah. The background plot is still pretty interesting, and I am very much looking forward to the third book on Bri as she is my fav character. I did like the love interest, but this didn’t really have the tension of a enemies to lovers. More like, forced proximity to lovers. The MC is 18 and turns 19 in the book, so I also wasn’t a huge fan of the younger perceptive. TLDR, first book was better, second book is worth it as a bridge to third book I hope will be awesome.
