A Spy in the House of Love by Anaïs Nin

Interesting. I felt sorry for Sabina. She's not really very self confident, vacillating from one man to the next and getting more and more paranoid and lost the deeper down the rabbit hole she travels. I have no doubt this was a very shocking portrayal of a woman when it was published, but now it seems almost quaint.
