My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
3.0
Type of read: Commuter Read.
What made me pick it up: One of the February Tennessee R.E.A.D.S prompts is to read a book by a black author. I don't remember how I found 'My Sister, the Serial Killer' but the cover art and title immediately grabbed me.
Overall rating: Here's the thing, 'My Sister, the Serial Killer' isn't bad but it also feels anticlimatic and unfinished. Like an essay written for school that the author didn't want to go over a certain page limit. I felt like there was so much more I wanted to know. So much more I wanted to experience. I enjoyed it, but it felt rushed and the ending didn't feel final. Definitely not mad that I read it, but I'm also wishing it had way more oomph.
Overall rating: 'My Sister, the Serial Killer' includes descriptions of killing and disposal of the bodies.
