OMG! WOW!
Back for a proper review later. Wow!

Okay, so it's a few days later and I just remembered I was supposed to come back to this to actually review it.
4.85*
Yes, highest rating I've ever given a book so far. Not quite a 5 though it deserves it but there were a couple things I either didn't like or would have wanted more details on. I'm mean, the biggest issue I had with this is how little we are told and explain what SCID actually is except that "you're allergic to the entire world", basically. I had to actually Google search it lightly to know a little bit more about it. I know the novel isn't a medical book or anything but still it would have been nice to have a better understanding of this illness.
Other than that, I loved the writing in this novel made entirely in the point of view of our the female lead, Madeline "Maddie" Whittier. This book reads as if we are in her head as well as if we had found her journal and we started to read. She's got drawings, diagrams, book reviews, which were one liners basically but nice and cute. We got to read her IMs conversations with Olly. We rarely see anything like that in books and this made it all standout in my opinion.
As a whole, I thought the pacing was really well done. I did think it went pretty fast between Olly and Maddie but love is an uncontrollable thing, is it? Fact that Maddie is a biracial character is really a great change where usually all main characters are young white girls and i thought it was pretty well done. We need more of this in YA novels. Another point I applaud with To All the Boys I've Loved Before! And the movies haven't white washed them, either.
I did really love this world and I wouldn't say no to read something else by this author.
