Mysterious and dark just about sums it up.
I wouldn't say Mona's flaws are a main focus here, however there is the side plot of her struggling to write a second novel as well as her "imposter syndrome" (if you can call it that). The main focus is Mona's tumbling through the event, and I think it is very well written.
I look forward to reading the book again in Spanish.
Somehow I loved the ending so much. What a deliciously weird way to end the book, what an odd way to tie the story together–the ending almost makes me want to read it again sooner rather than later.
