Tempting the Beast by Lora Leigh
3.0
An enjoyable enough story with an interesting premise, but mostly focused on sex instead of plot or character development.
While the idea is original - shifters, or breeds as they're called in this world, being a product of DNA manipulation and experiments, secret organization that once created and now hunts the ones that escaped and people that know of the whole situation and are planning to stop it - it wasn't exactly the focus of the book.
I did not particularly like the heroine, from her name to her naivety and persistence, but none of the other characters drew my interest all that much either. Generally they felt kind of one-dimensional and shallow, but then again the story is erotica so I suppose I shouldn't be expecting anything different.
There's a lot of foreshadowing, hinting at things to come in future books but I don't know if I'll ever get to read them.
