I am hesitant to give this short story 4 stars, but I feel that is what it deserves, especially compared to Plath’s other work. Although I enjoyed reading this story, I felt it was painfully surface level compared with her later works. She did write this in college though, and I appreciate the energy she put into the story. Led me to do more research on her life and work, which is always a positive quality of Plath’s work. A simple but effective story!
