"So, to not have to do that to be accepted without a fight, it can be almost painful. Getting what you want and not knowing what to do with it. I am good at being hurt and bad at being loved." 🥹 The Companion is not perfect but I am its target audience. No plot just vibes: a secluded cottage, cooking, reading, writing, and exploring (the grounds and each other). It gets repetitive, but it’s short so I didn’t mind. A few sentences here and there were needlessly intricate. Since it’s a short read, the character development happens (too?) fast. It’s still an incredibly emotional, sweet and steamy story between three trans people. I just adored this book, and I know I will reread it!
