Thank you to Macmillan Audio for this free audiobook for my review.

This book is getting all the hype and I was feeling left out. I reached out to my contact at Macmillan Audio and was like, please free me from the FOMO! And they were kind enough to do so. And whew, what a ride! Julia Whelan always delivers a fantastic audio performance, and her variations in voice for the characters just enhance this listening experience to a higher level. This is by definition a fantasy novel, but it is also a reflection on the human condition and what makes life worth living. Full of beautiful prose, that if I had read this book in print I would have been highlighting furiously, this book sweeps you into Addie's tale and gently carries you along to experience the wonder of a life written by a different set of rules. If you like romance, historical fiction, epic stories, or books that will lead to great discussions, you want to pick this one up.
