Knot Really Engaged by Kendall Hale

5.0

This is my first introduction to Kendall Hale, and please excuse me while I RUN to go read book one in this series because I finished this book in one sitting. I loved this story. It grabbed my attention from page one and held me tightly until the very end. There was no setting this book down and coming back for it. I love a good dual POV, but I loved even more than the first chapter you essentially get to read twice, from his and her perspective.

"Funny how some things never change. Now, here I am, years later, still wanting to shield her from anything that could cause her pain— like dragons or heartbreaks."

Audrey and Liam were quite the dynamic duo, and it was a delight in watching them realize their feelings were more than that of childhood friends. Liam is everything you want in a good book boyfriend, and Audrey was a stand-up gal. Never backing down or taking less than she deserved, even in the face of conflict. My heart broke for her and her difficult family dynamics, but I loved the closure I got at the end of the story.

"I really want us to talk about the stuff you took with you (I really think you’re a thief) and how we’ll handle things when I’m back in San Diego. I don’t want the heart you stole back, but we need to figure out what you’ll do with it now that you own it."

Audreys' brother Max really brought it home, and all the needling between the two made me miss my own brother and his pestering.

Reading this story, I felt like this was my family, each character diverse and different and lovable in their own right. Except for the crazy aunt, lol.

The plot line was steady, and this read went super fast. My only complaint is that it ended. I CAN NOT WAIT for Max's story!

If you are a fan of these tropes and want a book to get your attention, snag this one right meow!
