American Gods by Neil Gaiman
4.0
Cannot tell you how nice it is to read a book with A Plot again after noodling around in literary fiction for a bit. For my first time reading Gaiman’s adult fiction without Pratchett co-writing their relationship makes a lot more sense and now I do really want to re-read Good Omens.
American Gods is one of those concepts where once you’ve got the inciting logic that ‘Gods Exist In America From Their Immigrant Communities, Now Forgotten’ you can sort of do anything with, and Gaiman does something pretty interesting with it. I think the book wouldve been better were there more focus on Native worship.
Anyway, Gaiman is good, this book is good.
