Where do I even start with this novel! I absolutely loved it and was quite surprised to find out that this was the authors debut novel. The way in which Douglas Stuart carefully crafted the perfectly realistic portrait of a family and everyone else who intertwines with the main plot. Along with that, the setting felt so raw and genuine and honest. It was the perfect portrayal of people and their environment. I felt all the emotions that Douglas Stuart intended me too.
