I fell in love with the characters and the world. Jude was by far the best character, and one of my favourite protagonists in fantasy. This was my first Faerie book, and this has opened me up to perhaps reading more with a similar magic system. I didn't expect many of the plot twists in the book,
Jude becoming a spy for Dain and Oak being a Greenbriar descendant wasn't expected
.
Cardan, I found to be a hilarious character and I am a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope, and this was done amazingly, I feel that I liked seeing the enemy and begrudging partners side in the book knowing the lovers' side will hopefully be explored in the next 2 books, that I will definitely want to read.

Overall, if you want a great female MC, a compelling magic system (especially if you are a fan of Faerie/Fae fantasy), cunning characters, and an unbelievable plot, then I think Cruel Prince could be for you.
