This was a 'randomizer' selection that I originally was going to pass up but decided to read (again) anyway. Why? Because it's a great book.

I've lost track as to how many times I have read this book, but it's probably close to a dozen. I'm fairly certain that I read it for the first time in the late 80's during what I like to call my "Big Book" phase. During this phase I was going through books like a possessed person and decided to read books with no fewer than 1000 pages. This took me down the rabbit hole of books like "War and Peace", "Anna Karenina", and "The Far Pavilions".

Unfortunately, the movie for Shogun is awful. Maybe Netflix could do a remake.

I am not going to write a synopsis for this book - it's amazing, so just read it.
