An entertaining tale of constant hunger, and it's delightfully opulent. Bloody (so much blood), tense and aluring, it illustrates the "depths of depravity" of the rich. Also, I love the messy sapphic relationships and monstrous women and this book was great in that regard. I was reluctant to pick it up because it was marketed as historical, and I don't really care for US history setting, but it's in a fantasy setting inspired by industrial revolution and I loved it very much.
