i honestly found this one kind of boring. i feel like there just wasnt enough to it so they randomly added in this civil war story. it was probably intended as a metaphor or something but i just didn't care that much.
also, the diary ends with isiah being shot and talking about losing his strength, his body failing him etc like ???? was he writing his diary in the battle mud while bleeding out??? what the heck??? how did they then reclaim his diary??
i liked the start where the hork bajir are adamant on staying to fight, that was a cool hork bajir moment, and i liked the beaver dam plan bc that was fun and interesting, but the rest of it was meh.
