harrowing dystopian portrayal of the future of the united states prison system. heart wrenching and thought provoking. i don’t think i can recommend this book enough. the utilization of footnotes was a really interesting way to supplement the story.
loses points for being a little hard to follow at times but i’m also a chronic skimmer so it’s probably a skill issue 🫣
the biggest takeaway i had was thinking about prison abolition in depth. it’s not something i’m super well educated about so i definitley want to take this opportunity to research it further.
