I love scary mermaids, and I love grotesque horror, and I love a short and sweet novella, and I love when two people fall desperately in love… but this unfortunately didn’t blow me out of the water. At just under 100 pages, I read this novella in one sitting late at night, exactly how I felt like it should be read. It was cool, I liked the wordy, descriptive prose. I just feel like I don’t *really* care what happened, I didn’t feel very attached to the characters or the plot. Not bad, but wasn’t my favorite!

I have Nothing But Blackened Teeth by Cassandra Khaw on my nightstand as well so I’ll be giving that one a shot still
