The Invisible Man by H.G. Wells
mysterious
medium-paced
1.0
It’s hard to really comment much on the invisible man. It’s a vague classic. An idea that permeates modern media. The idea of someone who can be anywhere is terrifying, but even in the context of the era it was written, the take-home message “Watch how far science can distort you” (very popular in the late 19th to mid 20th century - see Jekyll and Hyde or even Frankenstein), The Invisible Man tends to be lacklustre. It doesn’t take the time to really develop the characters, the setting is cookie-cutter. H.G. Wells was a fascinating writer and I'd highly recommend trying a few of his stories before making a true judgement.
