Give me a spin-off on Poppet and Widget (and even Bailey) and I'll devour it because they were incredible. I know I'll enjoy it because the scene-setting and the circus world were intricate and beautiful, but the rest.. not so much. I am sad I didn't like this book as much as I wanted to. I couldn't digest few of the aspects, like the main characters, their "duel" which wasn't even a duel, their flat love story, the character arc of both the antagonists (one of who gets a story in return for years of abuse), and how conveniently it ended.
I want to like this book so I might give it a second read sometime in future.
