Kia is a beyond talented author. The way she is able to move the story, pull emotions and all around develop a book is outstanding. Those courtroom scenes will go down in book history as some of the best. The layers of the story with young boys at the school, the families, and personal life. It’s so much to take in but not overwhelming.

Kamran’s parents are a whole lot on their own and especially that dad. Love the way Kia broke them down and pilled their layers back. It helps you realize just how much it is okay to get help at any age because that dad y’all pissing me off. Then women like the mother speak up but that’s not enough. It’s like being complacent but knowing your heart and spirit want you to do something. The last 5% of this book really started to get to me but at like 3-2% left in the book i was crying. The way my heart hurt and my jaw doped. Parents really have to do better at making their home a safe place for their kids while letting them know that ‘yes the world is cruel but you’ll always have home to be safe.’ I’ve said it before family are just people that you share blood with but outside of that they’re just people you can pass on the street. The end of the boom showed just that.

If you don’t do nothing else give this series a read.
