The Fellowship of Puzzlemakers by Samuel Burr
4.0
A solid debut from Samuel Burr. The premise was interesting to me—a baby is abandoned at the entrance to a commune of sorts for talented puzzle makers (crosswords, jigsaw, mazes, etc). 25 years later, the leader (and adoptive mother) dies and leaves behind a series of puzzles to help the child find his birth parents.
I enjoyed the characters (though there were a lot of them!), even if things felt a little clunky at times. Ultimately, I had a strong feeling about his parentage early on that turned out to be right, but I still enjoyed reading the rest of the book.
