This was the book I asked the infamous library question about, way back when it first came out: “I’m looking for a book, but I don’t remember the title. I think it had something to do with rangers, and the cover was blue.” But the librarian found it for me! At the time, there were only two sequels out, I think, and I blew through both. I recently ran into it in a used bookstore again, and now there are so many! So of course I had to get it. I would say it holds up very well, with minor exceptions for some heavy genderization and overly tidy loose ends. I’m looking forward to re-reading the next one, and seeing where the series has gone since I left it off!
